KC Good Citizen Training

General Information

(Please note that all dogs will now have to be microchipped.  You can find more details from the Kennel Club on their fact sheet if you click here)

For those who have completed the Beginner/Puppy Course we offer the opportunity to work towards the Kennel Club Good Citizens Bronze, Silver and Gold Awards schemes.

Class times are as follows:

Bronze & Silver Class: 7.35pm to to 8.15pm 

Silver & Gold Class: 8.20pm to 9pm

Gold & Beyond: 9.05pm to 9.45pm

When and where?
The courses are held on Thursday evenings at Chacombe Village Hall, which is located on the edge of Chacombe Village, which is about 5 minutes from the M40 (junction 11). The full address is: Thorpe Road, Chacombe, Banbury, OX17 2JW

Responsibility and Care Information

Each week we aim to focus on one or two specific exercises in order to improve your dog’s performance. However, most weeks we shall also be doing other exercises so please come prepared for anything!  Therefore always bring treats, toys, brushes, mats etc.

Saturday 23rd February:  KC Good Citizen Tests

Thursday 11th April start of 2 week Easter break

Thursday 25th April: start of Summer term

Thursday 2nd May: outdoor training session (see below)

          Due to lack of day light the Silver and Gold Classes will be run at the same time from   8.20pm to 9pm.  Bronze Class will be run at the normal time of 7.35 to 8.15pm.

Thursday 13th June: Progress night

Thursday 20th June: outdoor training session (see below)

Progress night. If you wish to be considered for the KC Tests in July you will need to attend this session. Please speak to your instructor if you cannot make it.

Saturday 20th July: KC Good Citizen Tests

Thursday 25th July: Start of Summer Break

Outdoor training sessions:   From May onwards we aim to have at least one outdoor training session a month and this will usually be the first Thursday of every month until July. If the weather is good we might hold some extra sessions there, so keep your eye on the website for extra dates. The sessions will be held at Wroxton Playing field. 

Directions to the venue, Postcode OX15 6QD:

From Banbury Town follow the A422 Warwick / Stratford road,  go through Drayton and into the village of Wroxton, passed the Wroxton House hotel on your right, then take the next turn right to Horley (just before the White Horse pub).  The field is about 100 yards on the right at the end of the houses.  


IMPORTANT: Please do not bring bitches in season or dogs showing any signs of illness to the classes.
